We always start summer with Lazy Lima Bean Week. K gets a solid week of eating whatever she wants, staying up late, unlimited computer time and unlimited tv. Unfortunately (or not depending on your point of view) we are leaving town on Thursday for a wedding so Lazy Lima Week is going to be cut a little short. Also included lots of friends over and lots of swimming.

Growing Girl!
K and I are officially the same size. The good news is we can wear each others clothes. Actually her feet are much bigger than mine are. I'm thinking that next Halloween she could dress up like a nun and I could wear her school uniform. Unlikely that I will be able to talk her into that.
Earlier this week when I picked her up at school she was wearing a jumper instead of the skort that she was wearing when I dropped her off. Her skort was too short (you have to love Catholic schools) so they took her to the used uniform store at school and made her change into a jumper! There were only seven days of school left. Our neighbor explained to K how she pulls her skirt down when the teachers walk by. My little rule follower would have none of that. I let the hem out of her skorts but she was so worried that they were still too short. There were serious tears at breakfast because of the angst about the length of her skort. I hope that this incident has not scarred her for life.

Easter in Phoenix
K had a second spring break so we headed for Phoenix. I love the desert in the spring, it is just glorious with everything in bloom. Charlotte joined us which made it extra fun. It is great now that K has friends who are old enough to travel with us. The girls took advantage of the warm weather to play basketball, tennis and hit some golf balls. We had some great food. We also spent a day at the zoo with some old friends.

Camel Riding Then and Now
A very old photo of my roommate Julie and I camel riding on a trip to Morocco.

Easter Bunny
Love this picture of K and the Easter bunny when she was 7 years old. Oh those chubby cheeks. And a photo of K and the Easter bunny with Camelback mountain in the background. We were in Phoenix for Easter. K said that she told the Easter bunny just to leave a basket and not bother to hide any eggs. The bunny delivered.

Barry B. Wary
How exciting that my friend Leslie's first book is now available. I ordered one for K on Amazon yesterday.
Here a link to another bloggers interview with Leslie.

The Royal Wedding
K wearing the tiara that I wore when I got married. The "waterboarding instructor" t shirt is a nice touch.
