TEN!!!!!!!!!

Hard to believe that K is ten. This birthday party was a lot different than birthday parties of past years-clowns, jumpie castles, etc.... This year K wanted a sleepover at the St. Regis. I have to say it was a lot less work and a lot less mess!

Breakfast at the hotel

Movies in bed

Making an aquarium that was a gift from Sheila-nice mess, we will probably not be allowed back in the St. Regis

Talking with Sheila and Elliott

Acting ten

A Quick Trip to Seattle

My large group of cousins and I often say that the only time we get together is for weddings or funerals. Unfortunately the later took us to Seattle last weekend. When I explained to K where we were going she asked if there was a beach and when I said yes she lit up and said that she would bring her suit. I think when she has been to the beach it has always been warm. As it turned out our hotel had a heated pool and she should have brought her suit. I took these pictures the morning we flew back home. I wish I had taken them the day before because it was beautiful and sunny (unusual for Seattle in the winter) and we could see the snow capped mountains on the other side of the water. The day we left was more of a typical Seattle day.

Cousins

Getting into a box of chocolates-older sister Sophia does not look too happy, K is more interested in the bubble wrap

Bowling with the Taylors

We just love this family! Little Gunner is getting so big. He has such a cute personality, he cracks me up. And he is a pretty good little bowler!

Basketball

So glad that basketball season is over. K had a coach who reminded me of Bobby Knight! The girls were often in tears by the end of the game. I told K that she could quit, I am not one to encourage quitting but watching how upset the girls were broke my heart. K stuck it out and I am so proud of her!

Often it looked like they were playing rollerball instead of basketball

6:45 AM

This was the view from our house at 6:45 this morning. Not a lot of snow but the the roads are very icy so school was cancelled. I tiptoed into K's bedroom to tell her that school was cancelled and she could sleep in. She sat bolt upright, screamed "SNOW" and leaped out of bed. She was dressed within moments.

Here she is outside in the dark cleaning off her play set. It was 16 degrees.

Happy as can be!!! Within moments Ellie and Annie came over to play. It is now 5PM and the three of them have only come inside once for a brief lunch break.

Last Day of Christmas Vacation

Today is the last day of Christmas vacation. We have had so much fun-nice and relaxing. I'm noticing from my photos that K spent much of the vacation in her jammies!
